We were working on a mobile game that had such a tight storage budget that we couldn't put any sound in it and were fighting for every byte we could chop off. The only sound there was was a 4 notes monophonic jingle for the title screen (the main theme from the franchise), that I managed to bring at about 85 byte.

Producer: That's still too big, optimize.

Me: Look, that's the weight of an empty midi file plus four notes. I can't crush that anymore without removing notes.

Producer: Mmm... I think you're incompetent.

Later this day, he yelled at me when he zipped the file and figured it was in fact heavier after compression. I had to explain that the file was so small already that it was actually smaller than the header of a zip file.
